OVERVIEW


Hugo Stinnes Schiffahrt GmbH operates two Atlantic Liner Services and a variety of tramp activities around the globe.​

On the one hand the liner services consist of a multi-purpose service, operated with well maintained multi-purpose vessels, connecting carefully selected ports in Northern Europe and the Gulf of Mexico, our SanMex service. On the other hand, we offer a weekly container service from and to selected ports in Northern Europe and South Africa, our SAF service.

SANMEX Service – Your reliable and flexible direct MPP-Transatlantic-Liner Service between Europe and Mexico/US Gulf

The SANMEX Multipurpose Liner Service “SanMex” is operated between North-West Europe and the East Coast of Mexico and US Gulf with modern, multipurpose ships of between 17,300 and 21,000 mt deadweight and with a combined crane capacity up to 300 mt.

This service offers a sailing every three to four weeks.

Regular Liner ports (others on inducement)

North-West Europe:
Bremen (DE), Antwerp (BE), Immingham (UK) and Bilbao (ES)

East Coast of Mexico & US Gulf:
Veracruz (MX), Altamira (MX) and New Orleans (US).

With the regular calls at New Orleans, customers may choose the option to discharge their goods directly to inland barges and economically reach their final destinations via the Mississippi river system.

SAF Service – The South Africa Service is your reliable and flexible direct service between the North Western Continent and South Africa

The STINNES SAF-liner service was established in 1993 and is operated between North Europe and South Africa on slot charter basis.

We offer a 20’, 40’, Open Top and Reefer container services tailor-made, innovative and efficient solutions between both Continents to our clients.

Since inception, the SAF-Service, with its regular weekly sailings, short transit times and punctual schedules has set new standards within the industry.

The SAF-Service offers the following home ports in Europe: London, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp and Le Havre and the following ports in South Africa: Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban.

GAL Africa Service – Your reliable and flexible direct service between US Gulf/East Coast and Southern Africa.

The GAL liner service is operated between Southern Africa and the United States Gulf with 4 owned, modern, multipurpose ships of approximately 35,000 mts deadweight. The vessels, equipped with 40 mts cranes, combinable to 80 mts, can handle bulk, breakbulk, containers (including reefer containers) and project cargoes. The current, 4 ship configuration, translates into a monthly service (about 27-28 days). On occasion, additional tonnage is chartered in, reducing the gap to 23-25 days between sailings.

In the USA the GAL Service offers the following home ports: Houston, New Orleans and Jacksonville. On inducement the line will also call at Vera Cruz, Altamira, Brownsville, Port Arthur, Lake Charles, Mobile and Tampa.

Any other port in the USG and Florida can be considered subject port restrictions.Other ports in US Gulf and East Coast, including Mexico, can be considered on inducement and subject to port restrictions.

In Southern Africa GAL offers the following home ports: Walvis Bay, Cape Town, Durban, Richards Bay and Maputo. On inducement Port Elizabeth and East London can be considered (subject port restrictions).
